Astris

What is the Astris Website?

The Astris Website's original intent was to showcase my gallery of photography & graphic design work, however, I changed it up a bit to allow people to have a place to hang around at. Of course the site isn't finished, not by a long shot. It will take weeks if not months before I will complete the website. In the mean time, do look around the website and submit your suggestions on what should be added to the website here

About Myself

Picture
First and foremost, I am Dylan (17). I will not list my last name due to privacy reasons. I am an avid graphics designer whom has the dream of becoming a professional video game & graphics designer. I love doing a lot of things like helping others out, creating graphics, playing video games, hanging out with friend, etc. I'm also a very competitive person, however, I do not degrade myself by trash talking about others. I'm currently in my senior year in high school and I'll be graduating in less than a month. I plan to attend a community college for a few years before transferring to the Art Institute of Sacramento.

I've lived in California for most of my life. During my early childhood years, I lived in both Washington and Oregon. I haven't been outside of those three states, however, I wish to change that once I get out of college. I plan to travel to a few different country's later in my life, whenever that may be. I'm currently un-employed and I am actively seeking a job. I prefer taking a graphics design job of some sort, however, I'll take whatever I can get.

I always give my all when I am working on something or for someone, it doesn't matter if it's cleaning or designing. I am a sort of perfectionist, mostly on school work and graphics design. This allows me to almost always do my best. Most of the time, I am limited by a very short amount of time to design something, therefore, I have to improvise. I end up creating "spectacular graphics", however, they don't turn out as I would have liked.

I have been creating graphics ever since I was 11 years old, however, I was limited by my lack of software. I didn't 'really' start creating graphics until late in my high school career, senior year. During my early high school years, I really didn't know what I wanted to do when I graduated, I was lost. I knew that I love creating graphics, however, I didn't know that I could do so as a career. Entering the Graphics Design course at my high school was like a breathe of fresh air. The class allowed me to understand that graphics design isn't just some personal creations... it was much...much more than that.

Once my eyes were open to the opportunities that I had after high school, I started searching. Searching for colleges, searching for careers both near and far. Out of all of the video game & graphic design schools in California, I chose the Art Institute of Sacramento. It wasn't located in a tremendously huge city and it hosts a lot of opportunities. The only downside to attending a school like this is the cost of tuition and the sacrifices I must make. Those sacrifices are my breaks, summer, fall, winter, and spring breaks are shortened to the bare minimum, and I have to endure this for three years. It isn't that much of a big deal, however, having more than a week of vacation might do me some good. You never know. And the cost for tuition for those three years is $100,000. To me, this is a lot. I am unfortunately in the center where I cannot apply for federal aid and my family doesn't have all that much to spare for the tuition. So in order for me to attend my college of choice, I need to obtain a job and save, along with applying for every scholarship that I can get my hands on. It will be a few years before I'll be able to attend, however, I'll make it.
